It shows a different number from the page
An assistant should give the same figures as the pages in EstatesBase. Here is how to check, the usual reasons for a difference, and how to report one.
Updated 17 October 2026
It should not. Every tool reads the same figures as its page in EstatesBase, through the same rules. If you find a difference, please check the reasons below, then report it.
Check first
- Open the link the assistant gave with its answer. It opens the page the figure came from.
- Compare the figure on that page with the assistant's.
- Ask the assistant which tool it used and what the tool returned. An assistant can misread or summarise a tool's answer, so the tool's own figure is what counts.
The usual reasons
The connection covers fewer sites. If you chose Only these sites when you connected, every answer is limited to those sites. The page shows all the sites you can see. Ask "Who am I in EstatesBase?" to see which sites the connection covers.
The page is showing a narrower view. The choice of site or view at the top of a page narrows what that page lists. The assistant does not follow it. Set the page to all your sites to compare.
A different filter or period. The page and the assistant may be answering slightly different questions: open tasks or all tasks, this week or the next 90 days, the last 12 months or every completion. Ask the assistant for the same filter the page uses.
Something changed in between. A task was completed or a request was raised between the assistant's answer and your look at the page. Ask again.
The assistant worked the figure out itself. If it added up or compared figures, it may have made a mistake. Ask it to give the figure straight from the tool.
Report it
If none of these explains the difference, please tell us. It is important to us that the two always agree.
- Note the question you asked, the assistant's answer and the time.
- Note the page and the figure it shows.
- Use the Send feedback button at the top of any page in EstatesBase, or tell your administrator.
Your administrator can see the exact call on the Activity tab, which helps us find the cause.
